Butterfly valve

Butterfly valve
Mumbai-based KHD Valves manufactures a wafer design butterfly valve, which has a distinct advantage as an OnOff valve and also as throttling valve. Elastomer sleeve is available either in neopreone/nitrile/EPDM or other material as per required service with centre disc design and eccentric disc design with a tough and durable GFT/PTFE seat. The valve is fitted with ratchet type indicating lever. Discs and bodies are available in all machinable alloys, flap option is available to suit service condition. Specifications include size ranging from 40 mm to 600 mm; rating -150 Class; and type - sleeve and lined.

Cast Steel Butterfly Valves
Steam & Mining industries offers butterfly valves. These are designed with plate shaped disc rotated on its axis to open or close the valve as well as to control the flow. Compared with other types of valves, it is of simple construction, compact, light in weight and has less flow resistance. It is also low in cost and with quick valve operation. The seat combination is made of metal-to-metal contact, or metal-to-resin or rubber, or with a teflon or synthetic rubber ring fitted round the disc or resil-ient material embodied in the body seat. The valve is manually operated (lever-handle or gearing method) or by mechanical actua-tors (electric motor, or hydraulic-motor or cylinder, or air-cylinder, or air-diaphragm).

Inflatable Seated Butterfly valve
Regulas Engineering offers inflatable seated butterfly valves manufactured by Posiflate, USA. These are characterised by less friction, low torque, less wear and longer life. This unique butterfly valve design uses air pressure to expand the seat against the disc, providing even pressure distribution for a bubble tight sea, every time. Because the seat makes only casual contact with the disc during valve opening and closing. There is very minimal disc impingement this is in contrast to conventional butterfly valves where disc impingement leads to shaving of the seat, decreasing the overall performance and valve life. Substantially less torque is required to open and close the Posiflate butterfly valve thus a smaller actuator can be used resulting in lower overall valve cost. In actual compassion tests and documented field applications, the Posi-flate butterfly valve outperformed all other valves. Standard valve sizes range from 2 (50 mm) to 30 (750 mm) and fit both ANSI and metric flanges. A full line of actuators, limit switches and controls are available to suit individual applications. Operating parameters: temperature limits: -40° to 150°C (-40° to 300°F); air supply: 115 PSIG (7.9 bar) maximum to seat, varies with application; working pressure full vacuum to 100 PSIG (6.9 bar) varies with material of construction; and operating torque varies with application.
